Grave I.F.3. Son of Alfred George and Margaret Vincent, of Druhoek, Dannhauser, Natal. Native of Dundee, Natal (Source : C.W.G.C.). 2nd S.A.I., C Company Killed in action on the 12th October 1916. Age 25. On the 12th October 1916, the 2nd and 4th S.A.I. attacked Snag and Tail Trenches. The assault died away because of machine guns nests, placed well back in prepared positions, which caught the attacking waves at long range. His brother, Edward James VINCENT, served in the same Company and was killed the same day. He rest in the same cemetery, grave III.B.32. |
