Grave A14. Wounded in Delville Wood in July 1916. Killed in action on the 9th April 1917. First day of the Battle of Arras. The 2nd S.A.I. was in support of the 4th S.A.I. in the attack of Black Line and Blue Line (North of St Laurent-Blangy). At 12.45, the 2nd S.A.I. took the place of the 4th S.A.I., carried on the advance and occupied its part of the Brown Line near Athies. The 2nd S.A.I. sustained 20 killed and 68 wounded. |
